Powered by VOCEL (PbV)

To leverage the talent that already exists in each community, VOCEL is equipping two community members at select CPS elementary schools or community organizations with a train-the-trainer model of VCPA, in which they facilitate child-parent classes and caregiver discussions with coaching and support from our expert staff.

About the Program

Motivated by high demand for group-based early learning and family support, Powered by VOCEL is led by parent leaders, rather than by VOCEL staff. We develop knowledgeable, passionate advocates for early childhood best practices within the communities we seek to serve. At the same time, we're able to deliver high-quality programming to families at a lower cost than our traditional Child Parent Academy.

By training school staff and community members to deliver the Child Parent Academy curriculum, VOCEL reaches more families and builds capacity within the school community and neighborhood communities for sustained impact, year after year.

Implementation Partners (schools or community organizations) will designate two co-facilitators who will receive training and ongoing technical assistance from a VOCEL Coach. Effectiveness and feasibility will be gauged through reports of facilitator experience/satisfaction, participant experience/satisfaction, and participant (child and parent) growth outcomes. Our model prioritizes parents and caregivers learning and well-being.
